A public lecture on E.U. and Schengen presented by Mr. Rodolfo Peikov was organized on 15 November 2011 in Hall No. 106 on the invitation of the management team of the University of Library Science and Information Technologies. Mr. Peikov was introduced to the attendees by the Dean of the Information Sciences Faculty Prof. Dr. Dragomir Pargov. The lecture is part of the long-term cooperation program of the University of Library Science and Information Technologies and the International Institute for Security and Cooperation (IISC).

    The enormous audience showed a great interest in the multimedia presentation. The bursting hall welcomed a large part of the University management, a number of professors, many students. Mr. Peikov, who is a member of the Association of Former Federal Narcotics Agents (AFFNA) and the International Narcotic Enforcement Officers Association (INEOA) and worked for the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for many years, presented the information collected in his long years of experience and knowledge in a very attractive lecturing style. This prompted the students to ask a lot of questions and ensured interest in future lectures given by Mr. Peikov.

    In conclusion, IISC General Meeting Chairperson Mr. Rumen Petkov made a brief statement which clarified Bulgaria's accession to the Schengen area and the responsibilities of our country as part of the Schengen Information System (SIS). The information prompted interest and acted as a beneficial focus of the event.
