International conference on Inseparability of Security in International Relations, 1 July 2011, Sofia

   The international conference on Inseparability of Security in International Relations started in 1 July 2011 at Rodina Hotel. The conference was organized jointly by Slavyani foundation, the Federation for Friendship with the Peoples of Russia and the CIS, the Diplomatic Institute with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, the Diplomatic Academy with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Ruskii Mir Fund, the Federal Agency for Work with the Commonwealth of Independent States, Fellow Citizens Living Abroad and for International Humanitarian Cooperation (ROSSOTRUDNICHESTVO), the Representation of ROSSOTRUDNICHESTVO to Bulgaria, the Russian Culture and Information Center in Sofia and the German Society for Foreign Policy of the Republic of Germany based in Munich.

   The conference was opened by Slavyani Foundation Chairperson Prof. Zahari Zahariev and former Foreign Minister Georgi Pirinski who welcomed the participants. The first two reports were made by European Member of Parliament Slavi Binev on Economic Terrorism and Its Forms in Democratic and Totalitarian Societies and IISC General Meeting Member Dimitar Sabev, Doctor of History, on Coordination of the Assessment, Approaches and Actions of the International Community in the Fight against International Terrorism (the full text of the report is available on the IISC website - bul version). The event was also attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kamen Penkov, IISC Executive Officer. The conference guests included prominent former and current political figures from Russia, Germany, Jordan, Greece, Montenegro, the ambassadors of Belorussia, Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine and many others.
